Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind

I plan ahead and set goals. I do things that have meaning and make a difference. I am an important part of my classroom and contribute to my school’s mission and vision, and look for ways to be a good citizen.

7 Habits for Families
While you don’t think of families as having the same mind-set as strategy-oriented corporations, they can benefit from creating a mission statement. Covey says it can make a family’s vision a reality. He says a family mission statement can be a word, a phrase, a symbol or something in poetry or prose. The idea is to get the whole family working on this project. Don’t rush this process…take your time to really discover what it is you want your family to be about, what are your values, what do you enjoy most…from there, your mission will begin to form.
